Sticky Barbecue Ribs

Ingredients

Ribs

  • 2 kg/70.5oz baby back pork ribs
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili or Cayenne powder (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Sauce

  • 500ml/17fl. oz barbecue sauce
  • 3 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ - 1 tbsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tsp salt

Method

  • Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F.
  • Remove the membrane from the bony side of the ribs.
  • Mix together all the spices and salt to create a rub for the meat.
  • Evenly rub the ribs with the mix then pour over the olive oil.
  • Sear the ribs on your Whatever Pan for some delicious grill lines.
  • Place the ribs meat side up and cover with some foil then bake for 2 hours.
  • While the ribs are cooking, make the barbecue sauce by mixing all the ingredients together.
  • After the 2 hours, take out the ribs from the oven, remove the foil and spread the sauce all over.
  • Increase the oven temperature to 240°C/460°F. Return the ribs to the oven uncovered for another 10 mins.
  • Allow the meat to rest for 10 minutes to allow the juices to recirculate back.
  • Slice and serve. Enjoy!
