Ingredients
For the crust
- 170g/1 ¼ cups plain flour
- 1tbsp sugar
- ½ tbsp salt
- 8tbsp/1 stick cold butter
- 3tbsp water
For the filling
- 1.13kg/2 ½ lbs strawberries
- 340g/1 ½ cups sugar
- 3tbsp quick cooking tapioca
- 85g/1 cup rolled oats
- 70g/½ cup flour
- 100g/½ cup sugar
- 8 tbsp/1 stick cold butter
Method
- Preheat oven to 170°C/340°F.
- For the crust, mix flour, sugar, salt, butter, and water using your hands until it forms a uniform ball.
- Lay it out on a floured surface with a rolling pin.
- Butter your Whatever Pan and place the crust on top of it.
- For the filling, mix the strawberries, sugar and tapioca in a bowl and add the filling on top of the crust in your pan.
- In a separate bowl mix the oats, flour, sugar and butter until it becomes a paste and place on top of the strawberry mix.
- Place in the oven for 1 ½ hours and serve!
