Strawberry Skillet Pie

A deliciously gooey and summery dessert recipe that will most definitely please everyone in the family

Ingredients

For the crust

  • 1 ¼ cups plain flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tbsp salt
  • 1 stick cold butter
  • 3 tbsp water

For the filling 

  • 2 ½ lbs strawberries
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 3 tbsp quick cooking tapioca
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 stick cold butter

Method

  • Preheat oven to 170°C.
  • For the crust: Mix flour, sugar, salt, butter, water and using your hands until it forms a uniform ball. 
  • Lay it out on a floured surface with a rolling pin.
  • Butter your Whatever Pan and place the crust on top of it.
  • For the filling: Mix the strawberries, sugar, tapioca in a bowl and add to the crust in your pan.
  • In a separate bowl mix the oats, flour, sugar and butter until it becomes a paste and place on top of the strawberry later.
  • Place in the oven for 1 ½ hours and serve!
